Expert DTF Support

Need advice on artwork, gang sheets, or pressing? Our experienced DTF print team is available by phone or email.

What Are DTF Transfers?

Direct to Film (DTF) transfers are one of the most versatile garment printing methods available. They combine the vibrancy of screen printing with the precision of digital inkjet printing — without weeding or fabric pretreatment.

  • Vibrant colours that stand out on any fabric
  • Soft, stretchable prints with excellent wash resistance
  • No preparation – simply press, peel, and finish
  • Suitable for t-shirts, hoodies, workwear, bags, hats and more

DTFX DTF transfers outperform traditional DTG and vinyl printing, delivering professional results with minimal effort.

DTF Artwork Guidelines

DTF Sheet Size: 100cm x 58cm

Accepted File Types:

  • PDF (Preferred)
  • PNG or TIFF (Transparent background recommended)

Gang Sheets:

  • Upload your own gang sheet (Canva supported)
  • Or use our free Antigro Gang Sheet Creator

Colour Mode:

  • CMYK preferred for the most accurate colour output
  • RGB accepted – converted in-house before printing

How to Press DTF Transfers

  1. Trim excess film if desired (optional)
  2. Press at 150°C for 10 seconds using medium pressure
  3. Allow to cool slightly, then warm peel
  4. Repress for 2–3 seconds with a cover sheet for a smooth finish

Save Money with DTF Gang Sheets

Maximise value by fitting multiple designs onto one 100cm x 58cm gang sheet. Cut and press individual designs as required.

No adhesive mess. No setup time. No wasted space.

Outstanding Colour Accuracy

Colour accuracy matters. We use professional spectrophotometer calibration to ensure consistent, true-to-life colour reproduction on every DTF transfer we print.

Expect rich, vibrant prints that rival traditional screen printing on both light and dark garments.

DTF Transfers FAQ

What fabrics can DTF transfers be applied to?

DTF transfers work on most fabrics including cotton, polyester, poly/cotton blends, and many performance materials. They are popular for t-shirts, hoodies, workwear, tote bags, and more.

Do I need to pretreat garments for DTF printing?

No. DTF transfers do not require pretreatment. Your transfer arrives fully cured and press-ready — just apply with a heat press.

What heat press settings should I use?

As a general guide: press at 150°C for 10 seconds with medium pressure, cool peel, then repress for 2–3 seconds with a cover sheet. Heat presses can vary, so a quick test press is recommended.

Are your DTF transfers hot peel or cold peel?

Our standard process is cool peel (allow to cool slightly before peeling). If you need a specific peel type for a large order, contact us and we’ll advise the best option.

What file format is best for DTF transfers?

PDF is preferred for crisp edges and correct sizing. PNG or TIFF are also great if supplied with a transparent background. JPEG is accepted but not recommended due to no transparency support.

Do you offer gang sheet printing?

Yes. You can upload your own gang sheet sized 100cm x 58cm, or use a gang sheet builder to lay out multiple designs on one sheet to save money.

How fast is delivery?

Order before 12PM for next working day delivery across the UK. Local collection may be available

Will DTF transfers last in the wash?

When pressed correctly, DTF transfers are designed to be durable, flexible, and long-lasting with strong wash resistance. Following the recommended press steps helps maximise longevity and feel.

Can you check my artwork before printing?

Yes. If you’re unsure about sizing, transparency, or print readiness, contact us and our team can advise before printing.

Need Help with Your DTF Order?

Our DTF specialists are ready to help with artwork checks, pressing advice, or sample requests.
