What Are DTF Transfers?
Direct to Film (DTF) transfers are one of the most versatile garment-printing methods available. They combine the vibrancy of screen printing with the precision of digital inkjet printing, without weeding or fabric pretreatment.
- Vibrant colours that stand out on light and dark fabrics
- Soft and stretchable prints with excellent wash resistance
- No pretreatment – simply press, peel and finish
- Suitable for T-shirts, hoodies, workwear, bags, hats and more
DTFX transfers deliver professional-quality results with minimal preparation and are a versatile alternative to traditional DTG and vinyl printing.
DTF Artwork Guidelines
DTF Sheet Size: 100cm x 58cm
Accepted File Types:
- AI – Adobe Illustrator files
- PDF (preferred)
- PNG or TIFF (transparent background recommended)
Gang Sheets:
- Upload your own completed gang sheet
- Gang sheets created using Canva are accepted
- Or use our free Antigro Gang Sheet Creator
Colour Mode:
- CMYK is preferred for the most accurate colour output
- RGB files are accepted and converted in-house before printing
How to Press DTF Transfers
- Trim any excess film if desired (optional)
- Press at 130°C for 10 seconds using medium pressure
- Hot peel immediately after pressing
- Repress for 2–3 seconds with a cover sheet for a smooth finish
Heat presses can vary, so we always recommend completing a test press before starting a full production run.
Save Money with DTF Gang Sheets
Maximise value by fitting multiple designs onto one 100cm x 58cm gang sheet.
Cut and press each design as required.
No adhesive mess. No setup time. No wasted space.
Outstanding Colour Accuracy
Colour accuracy matters. We use professional spectrophotometer calibration
to help produce consistent, true-to-life colour reproduction across our
standard DTF printing profile.
Expect rich, vibrant prints that rival traditional screen printing on both
light and dark garments.
New DTF Colour Boost Option
Make your designs stand out with our new Colour Boost option. Colour Boost increases the saturation and vibrancy of your artwork to produce brighter, more eye-catching DTF transfers with extra visual impact.
- Brighter and more vibrant colours
- Enhanced reds, blues, greens and yellows
- Ideal for bold logos, graphics and promotional clothing
- Available as an optional upgrade when ordering DTF transfers
Important Colour Disclaimer: Colour Boost intentionally enhances and adjusts the colours within your artwork. Do not select Colour Boost if you require accurate Pantone matching, precise brand colours or an exact match to your original artwork. For colour-critical orders, select our standard colour profile instead.
DTF Transfers FAQ
What fabrics can DTF transfers be applied to?
DTF transfers work on most fabrics, including cotton, polyester, poly/cotton blends and many performance materials. They are suitable for T-shirts, hoodies, workwear, tote bags and more.
Do I need to pretreat garments for DTF printing?
No. DTF transfers do not require fabric pretreatment. Your transfer arrives fully cured and press-ready – simply apply it using a heat press.
What heat press settings should I use?
Press at 130°C for 10 seconds using medium pressure, then hot peel immediately after pressing. Repress for 2–3 seconds with a cover sheet for a smooth and durable finish. Heat presses can vary, so a test press is recommended.
Are your DTF transfers hot peel or cold peel?
Our DTF transfers are hot peel and can be peeled immediately after pressing. For the best results, follow the pressing instructions supplied with your order.
What file formats do you accept for DTF transfers?
We accept AI (Adobe Illustrator), PDF, PNG and TIFF files. PDF is preferred for maintaining the correct size and sharp edges. PNG and TIFF files should have a transparent background and be supplied at a high resolution.
Do you offer DTF gang sheet printing?
Yes. You can upload your own gang sheet sized 100cm x 58cm, upload a gang sheet created in Canva or use our free Antigro Gang Sheet Creator to arrange multiple designs on one sheet.
How fast is delivery?
Order before 12PM for next working day delivery across the UK. Same-day local collection may also be available.
Will DTF transfers last in the wash?
When pressed correctly, DTF transfers are designed to be durable, flexible and long-lasting, with strong wash resistance. Following the recommended pressing instructions will help maximise their longevity and finish.
Can you check my artwork before printing?
Yes. If you are unsure about sizing, transparency or print readiness, contact us and our team can advise you before printing.
What is the DTF Colour Boost option?
Colour Boost enhances the saturation and vibrancy of your artwork to produce brighter, more eye-catching prints. It is ideal when maximum colour impact is more important than exact colour matching.
Should I select Colour Boost if I need Pantone matching?
No. Colour Boost intentionally enhances colours and may change their appearance. Do not select Colour Boost if you require accurate Pantone matching, precise brand colours or an exact match to your supplied artwork. Choose our standard colour profile for colour-critical orders.

I will have to try different images as the ones I used wasn’t 300pixels at the size I wanted. The little images came out great. The website is so easy to use. I used the gang sheet and was very happy with the printing. Collected next day from the counter with ease
